BASEBALL

Chuckey-Doak 6, West Greene 5

A walk-off homerun by Gavin Crum in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted Chuckey-Doak to a 6-5 win over West Greene on Monday evening.

Chuckey-Doak’s offense produced seven hits on Monday. Shane Cooke was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Cooper Seay went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Crum was 1-for-3 with a home run.

On the mound Crum threw 4.1 innings for the Black Knights with eight strike outs, no walks, and six hits allowed. Gavin Murray threw 2.1 innings with two strikeouts, three walks and no hits allowed.

Kiptyn Ball was credited with the win. He struck out the one batter he faced.

For West Greene Brandon Hunter was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Aiden Willett was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Jayden Cox had a double.

Cox threw 5.1 innings for West Greene with seven strikeouts, three walks and six hits allowed. Hunter threw one inning with one strikeout, and one hit allowed.

Greeneville 12, Strasburg-Franklin, OH 2

The Greeneville baseball team started the week with a 12-2 win over Strasburg-Franklin, Ohio on Monday.

The Greene Devils produced 13 hits in the win. Kaine Ricker went 3-for-3 with two double, three RBIs and three runs scored. Jaxon Winter went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Tegan Begley was 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Jacob Ward went 2-for-3.

On the mound Branton White went all five innings  with nine strikeouts, one walk and four hits allowed.

North Greene 3, Hampton 2

The North Greene baseball team picked up a 3-2 win over Hampton on Monday in District 1-2A action.

Owen Pierce came up with the big knock in the bottom of the seventh inning. He came in to pinch and sent a double to centerfield that scored Aidan Halley and Tyler Britton for a walk-off win.

The Huskies were held to just three hits on Monday. Isaac Gaby and Christian Cogdill each had singles in addition to Pierce’s double.

On the mound Halley threw seven innings with three strikeouts, one walk and seven hits allowed.

Happy Valley 17, South Greene 7

The South Greene baseball team fell to Happy Valley 17-7 on Monday.

Colton Fillers and Eli Fillers each had doubles for the Rebels. Dawson Ripley and Maddux Brown each had two hits.

Fillers took the loss for South Greene. In 2.1 innings he struck out one, walked three and allowed six hits.

SOFTBALL

Cherokee 6, West Greene 0

The West Greene softball team fell to Cherokee 6-0 on Monday.

The Lady Buffaloes were held to two hits in the loss. Addison Peters and Amanda Owens each had a single.

Abagale Jackson took the loss. In seven innings she struck out seven, walked five and allowed five hits.

Volunteer 13, Chuckey-Doak 1

The Chuckey-Doak softball team fell to Volunteer on Monday, 13-1.

The Lady Black Knights were held to three hits. Haleigh Seidl went 2-for-2 with a double. Elizabeth Manuel had a single and an RBI.

Jayden Myers took the loss in the circle. In two innings she struck out one walked none and allowed eight hits.

Cocke County 7, North Greene 0

The North Greene softball team fell to Cocke County 7-0 on Monday.

The Lady Huskies managed just three hits in the loss. Josie Graham was 2-for-3 with a double and Addi Dean had a single.

Hannah Brooks took the loss in four innings she struck out five, walked none and allowed eight hits. Just two of the five runs she allowed were earned.
