Greeneville 68, Volunteer 42
The Greeneville girls basketball team moved into sole possession of first place in District 2-3A on Tuesday night by taking down Volunteer 68-42.
Brylee Tullock poured in 29 points for the Lady Greene Devils and Maria Lyde had 26 points and 10 rebounds.
Emilee Mailloux scored 14 points for the Lady Falcons.
Unicoi County 54, Chuckey-Doak 25
The Chuckey-Doak girls basketball team fell to Unicoi County 54-25 on Tuesday night.
Khloe Henderson led the Lady Black Knights with eight points. Brooklynn Sparks scored 21 points for Unicoi County.
West Greene 52, Happy Valley 23
The West Greene girls basketball team picked up a 52-23 win at Happy Valley on Tuesday night.
The Lady Buffaloes got a balanced scoring attack with Payton Norton leading the way with 15 points. Sarah Justis scored 11 points and Joie Shipley had 10.
Kymber Pruitt scored nine points for Happy Valley.
BOYS
Volunteer 72, Greeneville 70 OT
The Greeneville boys basketball team let the lead slip away in the fourth quarter and fell 72-70 to Volunteer in overtime on Tuesday.
Yordan Mills led the Greene Devils with 17 points, Zy Neal had 14, Braylon Kidwell 13 and Taren Claridy 11.
Jeremiah Jones led the Falcons with 24 points while Griffin Head had 21.
Unicoi County 88, Chuckey-Doak 52
The Chuckey-Doak boys basketball team fell to Unicoi County 88-52 on Tuesday night.
Ryland Grindstaff scored 12 points for the Black Knights. Jackson Simmons led the Blue Devils with 35 points.
West Greene 70, Happy Valley 63
The West Greene boys basketball team took down Happy Valley 70-63 in District 1-2A play on Tuesday night.
Ayden Lamons scored in 23 points for the Buffaloes. Josiah Dawson had 18 points, Tytus Shelton scored 16 and Luke Heck put in 10.
For Happy Valley Grady Goulds scored 23 points.
WRESTLING
The Greeneville wrestling team captured the Region 1-A Dual Tournament championship on Tuesday night by taking down Elizabethton 51-27.
The Greene Devils advance to the state sectionals where they will take on Seymour on Thursday at home.
In the semifinals Greeneville defeated Volunteer 70-6 and Elizabethton defeated Chuckey-Doak 66-17.
