BASEBALL

North Greene 13, Cosby 3

The North Greene baseball team earned a 13-3 win over Cosby on Tuesday night.

At the plate the Huskies earned 13 hits. Christian Cogdill went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Wyatt Burns was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two RBIs. Isaac Gaby was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Isaac Halley was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Colton Suggs earned the win on the mound. In three innings he struck out five, walked four and allowed two hits.

Gaby threw three innings with five strikeouts, one walk and two hits.

Chuckey-Doak 9, South Greene 3

The Chuckey-Doak baseball team topped South Greene 9-3 on Tuesday.

The Black Knight earned nine hits in the victory. Collin Bishop was 2-for-4 with a double. Colton Seay went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Kiptyn Ball was 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored.

On the mound Lynkin Cutshaw threw 3.2 innings with six strikeouts, four walks, and one hit allowed. Bishop threw 3.1 innings with six strikeouts, four walks and two hits allowed.

South Greene got singles from Maddux Brown, Christian Darnell, and Ricker.

Charlie Lane started on the mound for South Greene and went four innings. He struck out one, walked six, and allowed three hits.

Unicoi County 5, West Greene 3

The West Greene fell to Unicoi County 5-3 on Tuesday.

The Buffaloes earned eight hits in the loss. Aiden Willett went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Brandon Hunter was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Jayden Cox took the loss on the mound. In six innings he struck out four, walked six and allowed five hits.

Greeneville 9, Grainger 2

The Greeneville baseball team earned a 9-2 win over Grainger on Tuesday.

Tegan Begley led the Greene Devils with 10 strikeouts on the mound while adding a two-run home run at the plate.

SOFTBALL

West Greene 3, North Greene 2

The West Greene softball team picked up a 3-2 win over North Greene on Tuesday in eight innings.

The was decided in the bottom of the eighth inning when Abby Cluesman scored Aubree Everett from third base on a ground ball to the third baseman.

The Lady Buffaloes earned six hits on Tuesday with Evertt, Cluesman, Addison Peters, Alexis Cutshall, Miranda Hunter and Abagale Jackson all earning singles.

In the circle Cluesman threw all eight innings with four strikeouts, four walks and six hits allowed.

North Greene earned six hits with Hannah Brooks going 2-for-3. Chloe Keys had a double while Matti Phillips, Charlie Turnmire and Brylee Lutz had singles.

Phillips took the loss in relief. She threw six innings with six strikeouts, one walk and six hits allowed. Brooks threw 1.1 innings with three strikeouts, no walks and no hits allowed.

Greeneville 11, Cherokee 1

The Greeneville girls softball team started District 2-3A play on Tuesday with an 11-1 win over Cherokee.

The Lady Greene Devils pounded 15 hits on Tuesday with eight different players earning a hit.

Kinslee Lewandowski was 2-for-3 with a double, home run and three RBIs. Baylee Ramsey was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Brooke Parsley went 2-for-3 with a home run. Brynlee Jones was 2-for-3, Gabby Atchison was 2-for-3 and Brylee Tullock was 2-for-2.

Jaime Jackson earned the win in the circle. In five innings she struck out seven, walked three and allowed five hits.
