The Greeneville soccer team started the postseason on Tuesday with a 9-0 win over Grainger in the District 2-AA semifinals.
The Greene Devils advance to Thursday’s championship game where they will meet Volunteer at Burey Stadium.
All of Greeneville’s scoring was done in the first 33 minutes, and the game ended at halftime. Sam Gourley turned in a hat trick for the Greene Devils. Gabriel Oakley scored twice, and Griffin Gricunas had a goal and two assists. Emerson Hensley, Aiden Inscore, Kevin Moreno scored one goal each.
The Greene Devils defense did not allow the Grizzlies to attempt a shot on Tuesday.

NORTH GREENE 10, CLOUDLAND 3
The North Greene softball team finished strong on Tuesday night, taking down Cloudland 10-3 in the District 1-1A Tournament semifinals.
The Lady Huskies advance to Wednesday championship where they will play the winner of Cloudland and Unaka at 7 p.m. at North Greene.
North Greene got another strong pitching performance from Hannah Brooks who went the distance. She struck out 10, walked two, and allowed three hits while giving up just one earned run.
Brooks also had a big day at the plate where she was 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Heidi Trentham was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. Matti Phillips worked three walks and scored twice.
GREENEVILLE 12, CLAIBORNE 2
With their backs against the wall the Greeneville Lady Devils stepped up in a big way to beat Claiborne 12-2 on Tuesday night.
The Lady Devils survived the elimination game and advanced to the losers’ bracket finals of the District 2-3A Tournament. They will meet Grainger on Wednesday with a championship game appearance, and Region 1-3A Tournament berth on the line.
Greeneville earned 16 hits in the win. Kaley Garland led the way from the leadoff spot, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Kyla Jobe was 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored. Destani Bailey was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Brynlee Jones was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Baylee Ramsey went 2-for-4 with a double.
Jobe broke the program record for career runs scored on Tuesday with 216.
In the circle Jamie Jackson threw six innings with seven strikeouts, five walks and three hits allowed.
SOUTH GREENE 15, WEST GREENE 0
The South Greene softball team got its postseason started with a 15-0 win over West Greene on Tuesday in the District 1-2A Tournament semifinals.
South Greene advances to Thursday’s championship game where it will meet the winner of Hampton and Chuckey-Doak. West Greene’s season comes to an end.
Kortnei Bailey was nearly untouchable on Tuesday as she threw a no-hitter in the three inning contest. She struck out three and walked two.
At the plate Neveah Davis went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Macy Roberts was 3-for-3 with and RBI. Regan Arrowood was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored.
Abby Cluesman took the loss. In one inning she struck out one, walked one and allowed five hits.
