Chuckey-Doak 3, Elizabethton 1
The Chuckey-Doak volleyball team picked up a 3-1 win over Elizabethton on Tuesday night, 25-23, 25-15, 21-25, 25-23.
Jacey Taylor led the Lady Black Knights with 14 kills, 24 digs and two aces. Hayleigh Seidl had nine kills and 13 digs. Isabelle Karriker had six kills, and three blocks. Jayden Myers had four kills and six blocks. Jessie Dayton had five aces. Chloe Kirkpatrick had 29 assists and 14 digs. Macy Church had 17 digs.
With the win Chuckey-Doak improved to 4-4 in District 1-AA play while Elizabethton dropped to 6-2.
South Greene 3, North Greene 0
The South Greene volleyball team stayed perfect in District 1-A play with a 3-0 win over North Greene 27-25, 25-20, 25-11.
Greeneville 3, Unicoi County 0
The Greeneville volleyball team went to Unicoi County on Tuesday and earned a 3-0 win, 25-8, 25-10, 25-8. Greeneville is now 5-4 in District 1-AA play and Unicoi County falls to 1-9.
SOCCER
Elizabethton 4, Chuckey-Doak 1
The Chuckey-Doak soccer team took a 4-1 loss to Elizabethton on Tuesday night.
Things unraveled for the Lady Black Knights in the 21st minute when two defensive lapses in quick succession allowed Vella Nave to score two quick goals.
In the 36th minute Aubry Szabo played back a rebound to put the Lady Cyclones in front 3-0.
Chuckey-Doak’s Caitlin Larsen found the back of the net in the 39th minute on a free kick from 40 yards.
Nave wrapped up her hat trick in the 77th minute and set the final score at 4-1.
