Dandridge, TN — The Jefferson County track meet held on Thursday night witnessed stellar performances from Greeneville, South Greene, and West Greene High Schools with several school, season, and personal records established.
GREENEVILLE
In the girls’ events, Greeneville’s Breanna McClintock dashed her way to a commendable 6th place finish in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 13.74 seconds. Teammate Susan Mulhollen dominated the 400-meter dash, clinching the top spot with a time of 1:04.73. The relay teams displayed impressive coordination, with the 4×800-meter relay team securing victory for Greeneville in a time of 10:39.87.
On the boys’ side, Jacob Moore established a new school record in pole vault, vaulting 13’1″, breaking the previous record held by Mark Gaby of 13’0″ in 1990. Taren Clarity from Greeneville showcased his speed with a strong 3rd place finish in the 100-meter dash, posting a time of 11.55 seconds. Isaac Gibson stood out in the 800-meter run, seizing the top spot with a time of 2:04.97. The relay teams proved their mettle once again, with the boys’ 4×100-meter relay team blazing to victory in 44.59 seconds.
SOUTH GREENE
South Greene High School’s track and field athletes put on a spectacular display of talent and determination at the Jefferson County track meet, with several athletes achieving personal records and even setting a new school record.
Ava Clark and AB Crum led the charge for South Greene, both achieving remarkable feats. Clark soared to victory in the long jump, setting a new personal record, and also claimed the top spot in the 100-meter hurdles, where she tied the school record. Crum’s performance was equally impressive, securing victory in the high jump with a new personal best and finishing 7th in the long jump.
In the girls’ relay events, the South Greene 4×800-meter relay team delivered a stellar performance, clinching 2nd place and setting a new personal record. The 4×100-meter relay team also showcased their prowess, finishing in 2nd place.
On the boys’ side, the South Greene 4×800-meter relay team put in a commendable effort, securing 3rd place. Additionally, the boys’ 4×400-meter relay team displayed exceptional teamwork, finishing in 2nd place.
Individual standout performances included Natalie Freise’s 2nd place finish in the 300-meter hurdles and 3rd place in the 100-meter hurdles. Keshawn Engram impressed with a 2nd place finish in the long jump and a new personal record in the 100 meters.
Dion Blair showcased his versatility, securing 2nd place in the triple jump, 4th place in the long jump, and 5th place in the 110-meter hurdles. Natalie Foshie made history by setting a new school record in the discus throw, achieving a distance of 106-0 feet.
Other notable achievements included MyeSha Lewis’s personal best in the shot put, Ben Ballest’s impressive performances in the hurdles and long jump, and Madison Darnell’s strong showing in both the shot put and discus events.
WEST GREENE
West Greene High School saw notable performances, with Ariel Piatt finishing 7th in the girls’ 1600-meter run and Brooklyn Hyatt claiming 12th place in the discus throw.
