Caleb Slover has been named as the West Greene Head Football coach according to a press released sent by West Greene Athletic Director, Logan Minnick. Slover takes over for Evan Monroe, who resigned the position and has moved to Chuckey-Doak Middle School as a P.E. teacher. Slover, who coached Karns High School last season has also been a head coach at Morristown East and Sweetwater High School. Slover’s son, Austin, who started as the Karns quarterback each of the last two seasons, enrolled early at his dad’s alma mater, Tusculum University and will be a member of the Pioneer football team in 2026. Caleb Slover was a record setting quarterback in his two seasons for the Pioneers and introduced the “Air Raid” attack under offensive coordinator and former L.A. Rams quarterback, Dieter Brock. In 2000 and 2001, Slover combined to throw for nearly 5,000 yards and 34 touchdowns in those two seasons. The All Conference performer is still 4th in school history in those numbers.
This is a developing story and more information will be provided by Greene Sports Zone.
