When his team needed him most South Greene senior Tripp Neas stepped up in the biggest way and led the Rebels to a thrilling overtime win over Chuckey-Doak. For that he has been named Greene Sports Zone’s Texas Roadhouse Player of the Week for the third week in a row.
In the Rebels’ 29-28 win Neas carried the ball 30 times for 187 yards and scored all four of South Greene’s touchdowns. To make the performance more impressive, on Friday afternoon it was questionable whether or not he would suit up at all as he battled a severe migraine. Weather delayed kickoff and that allowed him more time to recuperate. Once the lights came on Neas was the star of the show. No only did he score the Rebels’ overtime touchdown, he called his own number and delivered to game-sealing two-point conversion.
