Tiny Day/ Red Edmonds Memorial Tournament Recap: 4-12-25

Greeneville 8, Morristown West 7

The Greeneville softball team started the Tiny Day/ Red Edmonds Memorial Tournament on Saturday with an 8-7 win over Morristown West.

The deciding run crossed in the top of the fourth inning. Baylee Ramsey and Kyla Jobe started the side by reaching on a pair of walks. Brynlee Jones then hit a ground ball to the third baseman that eliminated the Ramsey. Trying to turn the double play the ball got away at first base and allowed Jobe to score the go-ahead run.

The Lady Devils’ defense held strong in the bottom of the frame to earn the win.

Greeneville scored itseight runs on three hits while working seven walks and taking advantage of two errors.

Jobe had a double that made her the third player in Lady Devils history to earn 200 career hits. Jones also had a double with two RBIs, and Kinslee Lewandowski had a single.

On the rubber Jones threw four innings with four strikeouts, three walks and 10 hits allowed.

Daniel Boone 8, Greeneville 2

The in its second game of the afternoon Greeneville fell to Daniel Boone 8-2 on Saturday.

Greeneville started the scoring in the top of the first inning, taking advantage of a pair of doubles by Kaley Garland and Kyla Jobe to take a 1-0 lead.

After that the Lady Devils had trouble keeping up with Boone’s bats as the Lady Trailblazers got home runs from Riley Croley and Payton Guinn.

For Greeneville Addie Lamons had an RBI single and Brynlee Jones also had a hit.

In the circle Jamie Jackson took the loss. In 3 2/3 innings she struck out two, walked five and allowed six hits.

Morristown West 8, North Greene 0

In its first game of the Tiny Day Tournament the North Greene Lady Huskies fell to Morristown West 8-0.

The Lady Huskies only managed two hits in the loss. Kinlea Eastep and Josie Graham both had singles.

In the circle Hannah Brooks took the loss. In two innings she struck out one, walked five and allowed five hits. Charlie Turnmire threw three innings with one strikeout, no walks and two hits allowed.

Briony Bunsic led the Lady Trojans by going 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Daniel Boone 15, North Greene 0

In its final game of the evening North Greene fell to Daniel Boone 15-0.

The Lady Huskies were held to one hit in three innings, a single by Loren Blevins.

The Lady Trail Blazers earned 17 hits with Croley going 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored. Strouth was 2-for-3 with a home run, and two RBIs. Saul was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Blanton went 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

Matti Phillips took the loss in the circle. In two innings she struck out none, walked none and allowed 12 hits.

Volunteer 12, West Greene 0

The West Greene softball team fell to Volunteer 12-0 on Saturday in the Tiny Day/ Red Edmonds Memorial Tournament.

The Lady Buffaloes were held to one hit, a single by Aubree Everett.

In the circle Abby Cluesman took the loss. In 2/3 of an inning she gave up four hits, walked five and struck out none.

Alexis Cutshall threw 2 1/3 innings with no strikeouts, three walks and four hits allowed.

Jefferson County 17, West Greene 2

The West Greene softball team fell to Jefferson County 17-2 on Saturday in the Tiny Day Tournament.

The Lady Buffaloes were held to two hits. Aubree Everett and Alexis Cutshall each had a single.

In the circle Cutshall threw two innings with no strikeouts, eight walks and three hits allowed. Abby Cluesman struck out none, walked none, allowed two hits.

Daniel Boone 14, South Greene 1

The South Greene softball team started the Tiny Day/ Red Edmonds Memorial Tournament with a 14-1 loss to Daniel Boone on Saturday.

The Lady Rebels earned five hits in the loss. Whitney Reaves had a double, while Madison Hensley, Paisley Brobeck, Regan Arrowood and Neveah Davis all had singles.

In the circle Davis threw 1 1/3 innings with one strikeout, one walk and eight hits allowed. Kortnei Bailey threw one inning with two strikeouts, one walk and three hits allowed. Reaves tossed 2/3 of an inning with no strikeout, one walk and two hits allowed.

For Daniel Boone Sadie Phillips, Riley Croley, Aggie Greer, McKenzie Strouth and Emmi Croley all had two hits.
