Greeneville High School Excels at Twin Lakes Conference Track Meet
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Twin Lakes Conference Track meet, hosted by Greeneville High School, saw stellar performances from athletes across the region, with Greeneville High School’s track and field team standing out in several events.
In the women’s division, Volunteer High School clinched the top spot with 156 points, followed closely by Greeneville High School with 141 points. Cherokee High School secured the third position with 136 points. However, Greeneville athletes made their mark in various events, contributing significantly to their team’s overall performance.
Among the standout results for Greeneville High School in the women’s category, Jaelyn Navarro showcased her speed in the 200-meter dash, securing third place with a time of 29.40 seconds. Meanwhile, Susan Mulhollen displayed her endurance in the 400-meter dash, finishing third with a time of 1:06.52. In the field events, Jacey Goodwin impressed in the high jump, clinching the top spot with a height of 5 feet. The Greeneville 4×100 (53.97) and the 4×800 (10:45.64) relay teams secured first place finishes.
In the men’s division, Volunteer High School took first place honors with 179 points, but Greeneville High School wasn’t far behind, securing second place with 154 points. Notably, Greeneville athletes competed admirably across various track and field disciplines, contributing significantly to their team’s success.
Zayden Anderson proved to be a formidable force for Greeneville High School in the sprints, winning both the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.07 seconds and the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.80 seconds. He also leaped to victory in triple jump at 43’3″. Additionally, Trey Bailey showcased his long-distance running skills, securing first place in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:25.80. Jacob Moore vaulted to victory in Pole Vault at 12’6″.
Moreover, the Greeneville High School boys’ track team displayed outstanding teamwork in the relay events, securing victories in both the 4×400-meter relay and the 4×800-meter relay.
Greeneville will compete in the Texas Roadhouse Relays on Saturday and the Sectionals will be Saturday, May 11th in Knoxville.
