SOFTBALL
Greeneville 7, Cherokee 4
The Greeneville softball team went to Cherokee on Tuesday night and picked up a 7-4 win in District 2-3A play.
The Lady Greene Devils earned 11 hits in the win. Brylee Tullock led the way by going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and three runs scored. Kaley Garland was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Baylee Ramsey had a double, and Brooke Parsely had two RBIs.
Brynlee Jones earned the win in the circle. In seven innings she struck out 11, walked five and allowed five hits.
North Greene 10, Hancock County 0
The North Greene softball team went to Hancock County on Tuesday and picked up a 10-0 win.
At the plate Charlie Turnmire was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Matti Phillips was 1-for-2 with a double, and RBI and three runs scored. Eva Leonard had two RBIs.
In the circle Hannah Brooks earned the win. In four innings she struck out eight, walked none and allowed two hits. Addi Dean threw one inning with one strike out, no walks, and no hits allowed.
Unicoi County 16, West Greene 6
The West Greene softball team fell to Unicoi County 16-6 on Tuesday evening.
At the plate Autumn Carter went 2-for-3. Alexis Cutshall and Kaylee Willett each had two RBIs.
Abby Cluesman took the loss. In 3.2 innings she struck out three, walked three and allowed seven hits.
South Greene 17, Happy Valley 2
The South Greene softball team picked up a 17-2 win over Happy Valley on Tuesday night.
The Lady Rebels earned 19 hits in the three-inning win. Kortnei Bailey was 2-for-2 with a home run, and four RBIs. Paisley Brobeck was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. Whitney Reaves was 2-for-2 with a double and three runs scored. Regan Arrowood was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Hailey Williamson and Nevaeh Dvais each had three hits.
In the circle Bailey had one strikeout, two walks and four hits allowed.
BASEBALL
West Greene 5, Cumberland Gap 3
The West Greene baseball team traveled to Cumberland Gap on Tuesday and came back with a 5-3 win.
Eli Brown earned the win on the mound. He threw four shutout innings with two strikeouts, two walks and two hits allowed.
Jayden Cox threw the final three innings with seven strikeouts, four walks and one hit allowed.
At the plate Aiden Willett was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, and two RBIs. Carter Stills, Bronson Brown and Malaky Blair all drove in runs.
TENNIS
On Monday the Greeneville tennis teams picked up a pair of win over North Greene.
In the boys match Greeneville won 4-3.
In singles Greeneville’s Jackson Peters beat Ethan Dilks 4-3. Ryan Jobe won 8-4 over Wyatt Brashears. Parker Quillen topped Evan Klepper 8-0.
For North Greene Mikey Johnson beat Ryoma Taniguchi 8-3. Hanno Gerath beat Maccormack Cutshall 8-3.
In doubles Greeneville’s Peters and Taniguchi beat Brashears and Dilks 8-2. North Greene’s Jobe and Quillen beat Gerrath and Johnson 8-4.
In the girls match Greeneville won 7-0.
In singles Greeneville’s Brylee Catron beat Tegan McGuire 8-0. Emma Light beat Veronika Abrosikov 8-2. Julieann Raby won 8-1 over Chloe Grubb. Kerry Birdwell earned a 9-8 win over Emma Pierce. Agelyn Diaz won 8-3 over Erin Casteel.
In doubles Greeneville’s Catron and Raby beat Abrosikov and McGuire 8-4. Diaz and Light beat Castell and Grubb 8-4.
