July 16
Pulaski 12 – Greeneville 6
Greeneville raced out to a 6-0 lead, but Pulaski answered with 12 unanswered runs to complete a three-game series sweep with a 12-6 victory.
Matthew Kerrigan wasted no time getting the Flyboys on the board, blasting a solo home run on the second pitch of the game to spark a 2-for-3 night at the plate. Later in the first inning, Levi Pinder drove in Owen ten Oever to give Greeneville a 2-0 advantage.
The Flyboys extended the lead with three runs in the second. Olin Ward singled home Kerrigan, and ten Oever followed with a two-run double that scored Matt Cash and Ward, making it 5-0.
Greeneville added another run in the fourth to build a 6-0 cushion, but from there the River Turtles took control.
Pulaski began its comeback with a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth before erupting for five runs in the sixth and four in the seventh to put the game away.
Kerrigan and ten Oever each collected two hits to lead the Flyboys’ offense. Ward, Cash, Pinder, and Amari Jefferson added one hit apiece.
Jaden Hill turned in a solid start for Greeneville, allowing three runs on five hits over five innings while walking one and striking out four. Christian Mendez took the loss in relief after giving up five runs on six hits in one inning, striking out three and walking one.
The Flyboys return to action Friday on the road against Kingsport before coming home Saturday to host the Axmen at Eastman Credit Union Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. both nights.
