Over the weekend, the Greeneville Greene Devils and North Greene Huskies baseball teams would advance to the State Sectionals by finishing runner-up in their respective Regional Tournaments.
North Greene would go 2-1 in the Region 1A Tournament with wins over Washburn and Hancock County and will begin the three-game State Sectional series on Wednesday in a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m. If necessary, game three of the series would be on Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
Greeneville would pick up two wins over Sullivan East following a loss in the Regional Championship game to Tennessee High to finish runner-up in the 1-3A Regional Tournament. Greeneville would win Saturday 6-3 and take a 10-0 victory on Sunday led by a one-hit shutout by Carson Quillen. The Greene Devils will travel to Knox Gibbs this week for their chance to advance to the Spring Fling.
Greeneville’s substate series schedule will be announced later on Monday.
