The Appalachian League front office has announced its Players of the Week for June 16–22, and Greeneville’s Ezra McNaughton has earned Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.

The BYU freshman had an outstanding week at the plate, going 11-for-21 (.524) with three home runs, six RBIs, and three runs scored over six games. During that stretch, he led the league in hits, home runs, total bases (22), slugging percentage (1.048), and OPS (1.648). He also finished tied for first in doubles (2), second in batting average, and tied for third in on-base percentage (.600).

McNaughton currently leads the league with five home runs and a 1.337 OPS, helping the Flyboys to a 9–5 record and a 1/2 game lead over the Kingsport Axmen in the western division.

The Flyboys return to action on Tuesday, June 23, when they open a three-game series against Kingsport. Tuesday’s doubleheader will feature two 7-inning games, with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. Game 1 (Eras 2.0 Night) starts at 5:30 p.m., followed by Game 2, which will be Tusculum University Alumni Night.
