Pigeon Forge rode a dominant pitching performance from freshman Collier Helton and a steady offensive attack to shut out Chuckey Doak 13-0 in five innings Thursday evening at Pioneer Park.
Brody Watson led the Tigers’ 12-hit attack with two triples and three RBIs. Helton and Boyle each added two singles and combined to drive in three runs, while Dalton Cole and Fisher Monday each contributed an RBI double.
Helton, along with teammate Louttit, dominated the Black Knight lineup, allowing only five batters to reach base — two on defensive miscues and three via walks — while surrendering no hits. Helton earned the win on the mound, striking out seven over four innings, while Louttit struck out two in his one inning of work.
Gavin Crum took the loss for Chuckey Doak, allowing five runs on four hits while striking out four. Kiptyn Ball worked the final three innings, giving up eight runs on eight hits.
Pigeon Forge struck first when Watson tripled into the right-center gap and later scored on a David Price single to right field.
The Tigers took advantage of three Black Knight errors in the second and third innings, plating four runs in each frame while collecting four singles during the stretch.
Pigeon Forge capped the scoring by pushing across two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. The key hits came on RBI doubles from Cole and Monday in the fourth, followed by Watson’s second triple of the night in the fifth that drove in two more runs.
Chuckey Doak, now 0-3 on the season, will face conference foe South Greene on Monday in Lower Afton. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
