SOFTBALL

North Greene 13, Hampton 3

The North Greene softball team stayed perfect in District 1-1A play on Thursday by taking down Hampton 13-3.

The Lady Huskies produced 13 hits in the win. Heidi Trentham led that effort by going 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Charlie Turnmire was 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Matti Phillips was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Brylee Lutz went 2-for-2 with a double.

In the circle Turnmire earned the win. In four innings she struck out five, walked none and allowed six hits.

Greeneville 3, Grainger

The Greeneville softball team took control of District 2-3A on Thursday by beating Grainger on the road 3-0.

Greeneville is now 4-1 in league play while Grainger drops to 4-2.

Brynlee Jones turned in another impressive performance in the circle with 10 strikeouts, three walks and six hits allowed in the shutout effort.

On offense Brooke Parsley was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Brylee Tullock was 2-for-4 while Baylee Ramsey and Jones each had one hit.

Elizabethton 17, Chuckey-Doak 0

The Chuckey-Doak softball team fell to Elizabethton 17-0 on Thursday.

The Lady Black Knights managed just four hits. Elizabeth Manuel, Elizabeth Shelton, Hayden Kenney and Madisyn Miller all had singles.

Jayden Myers took the loss. In two innings she struck out two, walked two and allowed 10 hits.

BASEBALL

Greeneville 2, Sevier County 1

Will Harmon gave Greeneville a walk off win on Thursday night, 2-1 over Sevier County.

Harmon sent a double to left field in the bottom of the seventh inning that scored Jaxon Winter and gave the Greene Devils their first lead of the night.

On the day Greeneville earned six hits with Harmon going 3-for-4 with two doubles. Kaine Ricker, Grayson Crosby, and Winter all had singles for Greeneville.

Harmon threw five innings with eight strikeouts, two walks and four hits allowed. Randen Fillers earned the win in relief. In one inning he struck out one, walked one and allowed no hits.

West Greene 10, South Greene 8

The West Greene baseball team went back and forth all day with North Greene before finishing on top with a 10-8 win.

The Buffaloes only had six hits on Thursday, but took advantage of five walks and six hits batters. Jhonen Bath and Brandon Hunter each had doubles for the Buffaloes. Jayden Cox, Julian Greenlee, Carter Stills and Aiden Willett all had singles.

North Greene produced eight hits. Isaac Gaby was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and four stolen bases. Colten Suggs was also 2-for-3. Jaiden Bailey, Christian Cogdill, Tyler Britton and Wyatt Burns all had one hit.

Eli Brown earned the win for West Greene. In two relief innings he walked one and allowed two hits. Hunter earned the save. In two innings he struck out three, walked one and allowed three hits.

Colton Cutshall took the loss for North Greene. In 1/3 of an inning he struck out none, walked one and allowed one hit.

Gaby was the Huskies most effective arm. In two innings he struck out four, walked three and allowed no hits.

Claiborne 10, South Greene 7

The South Greene baseball team fell to Claiborne 10-7 on Thursday night.

South Greene earned 10 hits in the loss. Colton Fillers was 2-for-4 with a double. Zach Mason was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Cameron Kinser was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Maddux Brown went 2-for-4 with and RBI. Eli Fillers had a double.

Kinser took the loss for South Greene. In 4 1/3 innings he struck out two, walked four, and allowed eight hits.

SOCCER

Greeneville 3, Dobyns-Bennett 1

The Greeneville soccer team earned a 3-1 win over Dobyns-Bennett on Thursday evening.

The Greene Devils took control with a pair of goals in the first 13 minutes. In the sixth minute Cristian Banegas set up Remi Elyze-Vital for the night’s opening goal. Jude Dyer added to that lead in the 13th minute.

Dobyns-Bennett drew closer in the 57th minute when Jordan Stanley scored a goal.

Greeneville’s Emerson Hensley iced things with a goal in the 68th minute.

The win was Greeneville’s first over the Indians since 2021.

TENNIS

The Greeneville and West Greene tennis teams split their matches on Thursday with the Greeneville girls claiming a 5-2 win while the West Greene boys won 4-3.

In the girls match Greeneville’s Brylee Catron beat Makala Parman 8-1. Emma Light won 8-1 over Cassidy Hill. Angelyn Diaz topped Kensie Morrison 8-4.

For West Greene Aleea Aiken beat Julieann Raby 8-3, and Journey Lamons beat Kerry Birdwell 8-5.

In double Greeneville’s Catron and Raby beat Aiken and Hill 8-3. Diaz and Light beat Lamons and Morrison 8-6.

In the boys match West Greene’s Shane Wilhoit beat Ryoma Taniguchi 8-4. Elijah Williams beat Maccrormack Cutshall 9-7. Ayden Lamons beat Ryan Jobe 8-2.

For Greeneville Jackson Peters won 8-1 over Matthew Harral. Park Quillen beat Baylro Wagner 8-6.

In doubles West Greene’s Harral and Wilhoit beat Cutshall and Peters. Greeneville’s Jobe and Quillen beat Lamons and Williams.
