Aaliyah Moore (pronounced uh-LEE-uh), an all-conference-caliber player at Texas, became the 10th transfer to sign an Institutional Financial Aid Agreement (IFAA) with Tennessee, Lady Vol head coach Kim Caldwell confirmed on Tuesday.
A 6-foot-1 forward from Moore, Oklahoma, Moore previously spent her entire collegiate career with the Longhorns, averaging 8.9 points and 4.7 rebounds while starting 56 of 89 games since arriving in Austin in 2021. She sat out the 2025-26 campaign while rehabbing injuries and has one season of eligibility remaining.
Moore joins previously-announced transfer portal signees in 5-6 guard Shaelyn Steele (Penn State), 5-7 guard Jada Eads (Seton Hall), 5-9 guards Avery Mills (Liberty), Naomi White (Northern Arizona) and Rylie Theuerkauf (Georgia), 6-0 guard Kaylene Smikle (Maryland), 6-2 forwards Zhen Craft (Georgia) and Fatmata “Fats” Janneh (Texas A&M), and 6-3 forward Harper Peterson (Stanford) in Tennessee’s 2026 transfer portal class.
UT also has two incoming freshmen, including 6-1 guard/forward Gabby Minus (Dacula, Ga./Hebron Christian Academy), the No. 64-ranked player in the 2026 SportsCenter NEXT 100 class, and 5-10 guard Irene Oboavwoduo (Manchester, England/Trinity Church of England H.S.), who has a bevy of international experience with several Great Britain national teams.
In 2024-25, Moore started all 19 games she played for the Longhorns before her season was cut short due to injury. She averaged 7.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals while shooting 47 percent from the field and 71 percent from the free-throw line. She scored in double figures four times, compiling a season-high 20 points vs. West Virginia and producing a 17-point, 14-rebound double-double vs. Arkansas.
The 2023-24 season saw Moore earn 19 starts in 33 games, as she earned All-Big 12 Second Team, Big 12 All-Tournament and NCAA Portland 4 Regional All-Tournament accolades. She carded career highs of 11.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, while shooting 53 percent from the field. She scored in double figures 21 times and notched four double-doubles, tying her career best with 21 points vs. Alabama in the NCAA Second Round and adding 10 boards as well. She averaged 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds during a four-game postseason run by Texas.
She was off to a great start over the first nine games of 2022-23 before an injury brought her season to a halt. She was averaging 11.2 points and 4.8 rebounds, and had scored in double figures seven times, including a season-high 21 points against Louisville in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. She had come off a successful summer experience with USA Basketball in 3×3 play, helping the American squad win the U23 FIBA Americas Nation League Championship.
As a freshman in 2021-22, Moore appeared in 28 contests for the Longhorns, earning nine starts after missing eight games due to injury. She averaged 6.0 points and 3.1 rebounds per game and ranked second on the team in field goal percentage at 51 percent. In her first NCAA Tournament experience, she shined brightly with an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double vs. Fairfield and poured in a season-best 21 points in the second round vs. Utah.
Moore was a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year in Oklahoma during her high school days, ranking as the No. 6 prospect in the SportsCenter NEXT 100 and being selected as a McDonald’s All-American. She finished her high school career with 1,803 points and 882 rebounds, ranking No. 1 in school history in both categories. She also recorded 71 career double-doubles at MHS.
In the 2026 portal recruiting rankings, Smikle is ranked No. 8 by The Athletic, No. 13 by HoopsHQ and No. 14 by espnW, while Janneh is rated No. 16 by HoopsHQ.
