July 15
Pulaski 15 – Greeneville 7
Greeneville fell behind early for the second consecutive night and never recovered, dropping a 15-7 decision to the Pulaski River Turtles on Wednesday night.
Pulaski scored three runs in the bottom of the first, but the Flyboys answered with three of their own in the second to even the game. The River Turtles then seized control, scoring 10 unanswered runs over the next three innings to build a commanding 13-3 lead heading into the fifth.
The Flyboys attempted to rally, scoring three runs in the fifth and adding another in the seventh, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
Deacon Nelson provided the offensive highlight for Greeneville, blasting a three-run homer—his first of the season. Matthew Kerrigan added two singles in the losing effort.
Blane Metz was charged with the loss after allowing four runs on three hits over two innings. He walked two and struck out two.
Greeneville, now 15-18 on the season, will try to snap its two-game losing streak Thursday night when it closes out the series against the Pulaski River Turtles at Calfee Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
