Less than 24 hours after a fireworks-filled opener packed with offensive explosions, Greeneville and Burlington squared off for the final time this season, each looking to make a push in their respective divisions. For 4 1/3 innings, both teams leaned on strong pitching and solid defense, with neither side able to gain the upper hand.
Mother Nature, however, delivered the final blow, as a passing shower forced the game to be canceled.
The Flyboys, currently sitting three games behind Kingsport in the Western Division, will open a road series at Elizabethton on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. before returning to Pioneer Park on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. for another matchup with the River Riders.
