Greeneville Flyboys 13 – Elizabethton River Riders 5
The Flyboys pounded out 13 hits at Northeast Community Credit Union Ballpark Thursday night in the opening day win. Brian Williams Jr., an outfielder from Northern Oklahoma-Enid JC, drove in five runs in the win with a pair of home runs, while Owen ten Oever, a catcher from Indiana, added two RBIs with a home run and a double. Matthew Kerrigan also contributed offensively with two RBIs on a double and a single.
Clayton Moore got the start on the mound and tossed three shutout innings, allowing just one hit while striking out five and walking two. Christian Mendez earned the win after working one inning, surrendering one run without allowing a hit while walking one and striking out two.
