Chuckey-Doak opened their tennis season on Wednesday when they travelled to Baileyton to take on North Greene and picked up a 9-0 win. The Lady Knights opened the match with wins from Lexi Innis (6-1)
Maria Wesoly (6-0), Matra Syniauska (6-2), Jenny Gonzalez (6-4), Cathy Barwick (6-3), and Subhi Das (6-0) to jump out the 6-0 advantage. Ava Pincombe and Maria Wesoly would defeat Teagan McGuire and Cynthia Ozbun by the score of 6-3 to complete the sweep and send Chuckey-Doak to a 1-0 record on the young season.
On the boy’s side, the Black Knights would pick up individual wins from Kyle Malone (7-5), Vinny Sanocki (6-1), Logan Hilton (6-0), and Lui Woods (6-3) to lead 5-1. Luke Light (6-4) would collect the lone individual win for the Huskies.
In doubles’ action, Chuckey-Doak’s Malone and Sanocki picked up the 6-0 win over Ben Rowe and Max McGuire, while North Greene’s Austin Harmon and Aaron McClain collected a 6-3 win over Zach Ball and Braxton Cornwell. When the dust settled, the Knights would walk away with the win (8-1) and open the season at 1-0.
