The Greeneville Flyboys erased a three-run deficit with a five-run seventh inning to sweep the Bristol State Liners, 8-6, on Wednesday Night.
The Flyboys (7-7) won their third game in a row and finished up a six-game road trip 4-2 with the comeback win over the State Liners (7-7).
The Flyboys’ offense picked up where it left off on Tuesday night when the team scored 15 runs on 15 hits. Greeneville scored the game’s first two runs on Wednesday with an RBI double from Jack Mosh in the first inning and an RBI single by Kai Wagner in the second inning.
The State Liner’s left fielder Easton Rulli made the score 2-1 in the bottom of the second when he scored on a wild pitch, but it was a four-run fourth that gave Bristol a 5-2 lead. The State Liners scored all four runs with two outs in the inning.
The Flyboys responded with five runs in the seventh inning to retake the lead. They sent ten men to the plate and took the lead when Joel Dragoo hit a ground ball to third. Third baseman Jake Cooper tried to come home with the throw with the bases loaded, but he threw wildly allowing an additional Greeneville run to score.
Aden Hill had an excellent series for the Flyboys in Bristol. He went 6-for-9 with four runs, three RBIs, and a home run. His average was raised by 131 points in the series.
Jack Mosh was 3-for-5 in the game with two RBIs.
Daniel Eagen (1-0) picked up the win in relief and Brandon Decker (0-1) took the loss. Colby Lipovsky (1) got the save for Greeneville.
The Flyboys will start a five-game homestand on Thursday when they welcome the Danville Otterbots (8-6) at 7 p.m. A link to watch the game can be found on the Flyboys website.
