The Greeneville boys golf team went to Morristown on Monday and placed eighth out 20 teams in a talented field at the Mike Mills Morristown Invitational.
Nathan Howlett led the Greene Devils with a 77. Landon Aldridge shot an 80, Carson Waters 82 and Andrew England 82 for the Greene Devils’ team score of 321. Bryson Ricker and Brayden Shelton each had an 84.
First Baptist Academy of Knoxville won the event with a 304, Christian Academy of Knoxville was second with a 305, and Morristown West was third at 313.
First Baptist’s Alex Green was the individual champion with a 68, Jake Fowler of Dobyns-Bennett was second with a 71, and Roddy Sturgeon of CAK was third with a 72.
The Greeneville girls will be back in Morristown on Tuesday for the ladies version of the tournament.
Rebels Take First Cross-County Of The Season
The South Greene boys golf team got its season started on Monday with a win over Chuckey-Doak, West Greene and North Greene at Twin Creeks Golf Course.
Kennan Hankins took medalist honors with a 39 to lead the way for South Greene. Brenna Gregg was next with a 40, Mitchell Landers turned in a 44 and Cameron Kinser shot a 45 for South Greene’s team score of 168.
West Greene shot a 192 as a team. Thomas Cogsdell shot a 44, Xander Crisp also had a 44, Josiah Dawson 52 and Seth Julian had a 52 for the Buffaloes team score of 192.
Knox McAmis led Chuckey-Doak with a 46, Ty Shelton had a 49, Denver Huff shot a 52 and Harrison Ayers turned in a 53. As a team the Black Knights carded a 200.
For North Greene Nick Norton shot a 63.
In the girls competition Chuckey-Doak shot a 94. Harley Thompson earned medalist honor with a 43. Addilyn Boesch had a 51 and Alexis Deming had a 51.
South Greene’s Khloe Laws shot a 50. Kylie Listek of North Greene shot a 61 and Katie Beth Hollingsworth of West Greene shot a 61.
