Science Hill Dominates Big 11 Conference Track and Field Meet
KINGSPORT, Tenn. — The Big 11 Conference Track and Field Meet held at Dobyns-Bennett High School saw Science Hill High School secure top honors in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions, with the Science Hill boys’ team claiming their first conference title since 2011. Meanwhile, Greeneville High School delivered strong performances, marking their best showing of the season with a fourth-place finish for the boys and a sixth-place finish for the girls. Several competitions were highlighted by All Conference selections.
Olivia McClintock led the charge for the Greeneville Lady Devils, capturing first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.99 seconds. Zaydyn Anderson proved instrumental for the boys’ team, amassing 20 individual points throughout the meet. The boys’ team clinched fourth place overall, highlighted by impressive performances in various events.
In the girls’ competition, McClintock continued her success, securing fifth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.73 seconds. Jacey Goodwin contributed to Greeneville’s tally with a third-place finish in the high jump, while Lorelei Birdwell demonstrated skill in pole vault, finishing fifth. The Lady Devils’ relay teams also performed admirably, clinching third place in the 4×100-meter relay and fourth place in the 4×200-meter relay.
For the boys, Anderson showcased his speed in the sprints, finishing second in both the 100-meter dash (11.13 seconds) and the 200-meter dash (22.08 seconds). Trey Bailey demonstrated endurance in distance events, claiming fifth place in the 1600-meter run and third place in the 3200-meter run.
