Greeneville’s Trey Bailey ran his fastest race ever on Saturday in Knoxville and claimed his fourth win in as many races this season.
Bailey finished in first place at the Cherokee Classic cross country race with a personal best time of 15.30.88. The time was 17 seconds better than his previous best and 16 seconds better than Volunteer’s Kevin McCurry who came in second place at 15:46.7.
Daniel Boone’s Fisher Battel was third at 16.01.9 and Knoxville West’s Nicholas Burke was fourth at 16:11.7.
As a team the Greene Devils finished in eighth place out of 26 teams with 263 points. Isaac Gibson was 20th at 17:14.4, Jules Richard was 53rd, Cole Englehardt 99th, Jesse Reneau 134th.
Daniel Boone was first as a team with 53 points, Farragut was second (76) and Maryville was third (118)
The Greeneville girls finished in 15th place. Ashlynn Ranly led the Lady Greene Devils with with a time of 24:40.2 and finished in 86th place. Susan Mullhollen was 110th, Jacey Goodwin was 111th, Aley White 120th and Vera McKinney 181st.
Webb School of Knoxville (41) win the girls team event. Farragut (80) was second and Maryville (133) was third.
Calysta Garmer of Webb was first in 17:09.7, teammate Jazzlyn Garmer was second in 17:10.2. Ava Moody of Anderson County was third in 18:17.5.
