The Tennessee Sports Writers Association released its boys basketball All-State teams on Wednesday and Greeneville’s Trey Thompson was named to the Class 3A All-State team for the second year in a row.
Thompson had a prolific junior season for the Greene Devils and was named one of three finalist for Class 3A’s Mr. Basketball award for the second time, and he helped the Greene Devils advance to the state semifinals.
This season Thompson averaged 24.3 points per game, while shooting 44 percent from three-point range, 60 percent from the field, and 81 percent from the free throw line. He averaged 10.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals per game. As a junior Thompson became Greeneville’s all-time leading scorer, passing Ja’Kobi Gillespie
