NASHVILLE — Tusculum University guard Bryce Jackson has been named the State College Men’s Basketball Player of the Week as selected by the Tennessee Sportswriters Association (TSWA).

Jackson becomes the first Pioneer cager to garner TSWA Player of the Week accolades since Inady Legiste during the 2022-23 campaign.

Jackson, a graduate student from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, averaged 27.5 points per game last week as he led the Tusculum to a pair of South Atlantic Conference victories. For his efforts, he was also named the SAC Player of the Week.

In Tusculum’s 88-74 win over Mars Hill, Jackson scored a season-high 29 points to go along with five rebounds and six assists. He shot 8-of-14 from the floor with three 3-pointers and went a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line.

He followed with 26 points in an 89-73 victory over Newberry. He went 10-of-11 from the charity stripe and also contributed eight rebounds, five assists and made three steals.

On the week, he went 20-of-21 from the free throw line (95.2%) and average 5.5 assists and 6.5 rebounds per contest.

Jackson leads the Pioneers in scoring this year averaging 15.7 points per game which is ranked sixth in the league. He also leads TU in assists (2.7 apg – 16th in SAC) and minutes played per game (31.8 mpg – 8th in SAC).

Jackson’s 1,189 career points are the 22nd-most in Tusculum history. He is listed in the program’s top-10 in steals (115 – 9th), free throws made (320 – 7th) and free throw attempts (408 – 10th).

Tusculum returns to action this Wednesday (Feb. 18) when they host UVA Wise for a 7:30 p.m. contest at Pioneer Arena. Listen to the game from 95.5FM WSMG The Jewel.
