Girls: Greeneville 20 – Gatlinburg Pittman 7
Greeneville’s Lady Devils defeated the Lady Highlanders of Gatlinburg-Pittman 20–7 on Monday afternoon, securing the No. 2 seed for the District 1 Tournament in December.
Greeneville opened strong with a balanced attack to take a 7–1 lead after the first game. Lylli Sopha set the pace with a 145, followed closely by Carly McLeod (139), Addison Phillips (137), Jazmine Kesterson (131), and Madison Broyles (131). Isabella Anderson led the Lady Highlanders with a 135.
Gatlinburg-Pittman flipped the momentum in the second game, earning six points to cut the deficit to 9–7. Nikyla Monroe powered the comeback with a 168, while Escarleth Sevilla (148), Alejandro Quevedo (145), and Allie Drayer (138) added solid scores. Breana Brown posted a 150 to lead the Lady Devils in the game.
Greeneville closed out the match by winning both Baker games, 117–101 and 132–130, sealing the victory and improving to 2–1 in conference play. Gatlinburg-Pittman finishes its regular season with a 2–2 record.
Boys: Gatlinburg Pittman 17 – Greeneville 10
Gatlinburg-Pittman capped off a perfect 9–0 conference regular season with a 17–10 win over Greeneville on Monday afternoon.
Koby Bohanan’s 213 and Ethan Craig’s 191 powered the Highlanders to an early 6–2 lead after the first game, outscoring Greeneville 1056–954. Jon Gilbert led the Greene Devils with a 180.
In game two, Gilbert stayed hot with a 193, helping Greeneville split the individual points, take the two team points, and trim the deficit to 9–7. Noah Stahlman added a 180, while Evan Litchfield posted a 171 and Caleb Payne a 170. Braden Shirley paced the Highlanders with a 205, and Justine Tawani added a 191.
Greeneville hoped to ride that momentum into the first Baker game, stringing together four strikes in the 9th and 10th frames to finish at 175. However, the Highlanders answered with a 199 to extend their lead to 12–7.
The Devils claimed the second Baker game 141–130 to cut the gap to 12–10, but Gatlinburg-Pittman secured the match by earning the five bonus points for Baker totals and overall pinfall.
Greeneville will travel to Sevier County on Wednesday for a 1:00 p.m. matchup before returning home Monday for the season finale against Science Hill.
