Lady Vols Make Cut At NCAA Championships

CARLSBAD, Calif. – The Tennessee women’s golf team made the cut for the fourth round of stroke play at the NCAA Championships Sunday after shooting even-par in round three.

Monday’s final round of stroke play consists of 15 teams. Following the round, the field will be cut to the top eight teams who will then advance to the match play portion of the tournament.

After 54 holes of stroke play, Tennessee is tied with Virginia for 10th place at 12-over overall. The Lady Vols climbed three spots on the leaderboard in round three after shooting the fifth-best third round score in the 30-team field.

Manassanan Chotikabhukkana built upon her round-two momentum and carded a 2-under 70 in the third round. She enters the final round of stroke play tied for 28th at 2-over.

Chotikabhukkana’s round was highlighted by her hole-out for eagle on the par-four hole five.

Martina Lopez-Lanchares bounced back nicely in round three and also posted a 2-under 70 on Sunday after a clutch birdie putt on hole 18. She is tied for 63rd at 7-over ahead of Monday’s round.

Freshman Kyra Van Kan was the final Lady Vol in red numbers in round three, notching a 1-under 71. Van Kan is 3-over and in 37th ahead of day four.

Senior Bailey Davis is tied for 45th at 5-over going into the fourth round and gave UT its final counting round Sunday, carding a 77.

Sofie Engeseth posted a 78 in round three and is 12-over overall.
