NINETY SIX, S.C. — The Tusculum University men’s golf team opened with a score of 294 and are tied for ninth place following the opening round of the 2025 Patriot Fall Classic.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being held at the par-72, 7,054-yard Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor.
Monday’s second round was called due to darkness and will resume on Tuesday morning, followed by the final 18 holes in the 19-team field.
Wingate shot an 11-under par team aggregate score of 277 and leads by seven shots over host Lander. Saint Leo is third with 286, Coker is fourth with 288 and Embry-Riddle rounds out the top-five with a 289.
Newberry, Belmont Abbey and Carson-Newman are locked in a three-way tie for sixth place with 293. Tusculum, Palm Beach Atlantic, Erskine and Emmanuel are tied for ninth place with 294. North Greenville is 14th with 298, while King, Chowan and Southern Wesleyan each fired 301 and are tied for 15th place. Georgia College (303) and Young Harris (307) round out the field.
Marinus Jeebe was the low Pioneer for the round as he carded a two-under par 70 and is tied for eighth-place after 18 holes. His scorecard included three birdies, one bogey and 14 pars for his second straight round in red numbers.
Ed Linley is in 22nd place with an even par 72 as he posted three birdies, three bogeys and 12 pars for his opening round. Lawson Harkey and Fraser Laird each shot 76 and are tied for 7th place, while Joe Stevenson shot 77 and is 84th.
Lewis Beeden of Wingate and Lander’s Filip Yngfalk share the 18-hole lead after firing a five-under par 67.
