The Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds will play at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 2, 2025 in what will be the first Major League Baseball game in Tennessee, ever. History will be made at The Last Great Colosseum as attendance is projected to be the most watched MLB game in MLB history. Baseball fans in East Tennessee will be quite familiar with each starting pitcher. The Atlanta starter will be Spencer Strider who helped Christian Academy of Knoxville win a state championship in 2017, earning Gatorade Tennessee Baseball Player of the Year and Tennessee Mr. Baseball. The Reds’ starting pitcher will be Chase Burns, a Tennessee native who spent two stellar seasons in Knoxville as a Volunteer. He was named the 2022 National Freshman of the Year and Freshman Pitcher of the Year.
The event will be opened with a concert from Tim McGraw and Pitbull. Tickets and information for the MLB Speedway Classic can be found at the link below.
