SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Tusculum’s Reagan Padilla recorded her second tournament victory of the season by claiming medalist honors at the 2024 Converse Invitational which was held at The Carolina Country Club.

Padilla posted a two-over par tournament total 146 including Tuesday’s final round 74 and win by one shot over runner-ups Mara Martinez (Emmanuel) and Lucy Wiegert (Young Harris). Padilla captured the individual title last fall at the season-opening King Invitational.

Tusculum finished seventh in the team competition while posting a 36-hole total 667.

North Greenville claimed the team championship with 643 including a final round 316 to win by nine shots over Lander B (652). Milligan, UNC Pembroke and Trevecca Nazarene finished in a three-way tie for third place at 656. Host Converse was sixth with 663, followed by Tusculum, Shorter (675), King (678), Erskine (679), Emmanuel (681) and Young Harris (699).

Padilla sealed the victory with a pair of pars on the final two holes to become only the sixth multiple tournament winner in program history.

Tusculum’s Lindsay Self finished with a 36-hole total 86-83=169 to tie for 30th place, while Adrienne O’Brien shot 86-87=173 for 41st. Emilie Bergh-Jacobsen placed 49th with 89-90=179, while Lindy Carter finished 59th (101-98=199).

Tusculum returns to action next week (Mar. 18-19) when they host the 26th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial at Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville. The Pioneers finished runner-up at last year’s event
