Pioneers Finish Sixth At SAC Championship; Linley Earns All-Tournament Laurels

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Tusculum University men’s golf team tied for sixth place at the 2026 South Atlantic Conference Championship which is being held at The Preserve at Verdae.

The Pioneers finished with a 54-hole total 916 including Monday’s third round tally of 308. TU moved up a spot on the leaderboard with the sixth-place showing, its best finish since placing fifth, three years ago.

Freshman Ed Linley led the Pioneers with his seventh-place finish to earn a spot on the SAC All-Tournament Team. He finished with a 54-hole total of 75-70-75=220 and lock down his team-leading third top-10 performance of the year. His final round 75 was a wild one which included four bogeys, two double bogeys, seven pars, three birdies and an eagle.

Wingate is first after 54 holes with an eight-under par aggregate score of 856, including a final round 282 (-6). Lincoln Memorial is second with a one-over par 865, followed by Catawba (884) and Anderson (897) to comprise the top-four, who now moves onto Tuesday match medal round format. In the morning session, Wingate will face Anderson in one semifinal, while LMU and Catawba will meet in the other semifinal. The two semifinal winners will meet Tuesday afternoon for the championship match.

Carson-Newman finished fifth with 903, while Tusculum and Coker tied for sixth place honors with 916. Lenoir-Rhyne and UVA Wise tied for eighth with 924, Newberry was 10^th with 926 and Mars Hill placed 11^th with 1015.

TU sophomore Harrison Price moved up seven spots on the leaderboard as he carded a 76 on Monday and finished tied for 28^th place with 78-77-76=231. Freshman George Evans also shot 231 with rounds of 76-75-80 to tie for 28^th position. Buster O’Callaghan finished 37^th with 81-76-77=234, while junior Marinus Jeebe, playing as a substitute in the final two rounds, carded an 81 to wrap up his SAC Championship.
