The Greeneville football team is in the state quarterfinals for the ninth consecutive season and senior quarterback Cade Baugh is big reason why. For that he has been named the Greene Sports Zone Player of the Week.
In last week’s 35-0 win over White County in the second round of the Class 4A Playoffs Baugh led the Greene Devils in both passing and rushing. Through the air he was 13-of-17 for 237 yards with two touchdowns. That included a 70-yard touchdown pass to Taren Claridy just before halftime, and a 66-yard touchdown pass to Cole Franklin in the second half. On the ground he ran for 63 yards on 13 carries and got the game started with a 13-yard touchdown run. This is the third time Baugh has been recognized as the Greene Sports Zone Player of the Week.
