Chuckey-Doak 16, Happy Valley 8
The Chuckey-Doak softball team went to Happy Valley on Monday and picked up an 16-8 in District 1-2A action.
The Lady Black Knights pounded out 22 hits in the win.. Madisyn Miller led Chuckey-Doak by going 4-for-5 with two doubles, and two RBIs. Jayden Myers was 3-for-5 with two RBIs, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Elizabeth Manuel was 3-for-5 with a double and four RBIs. Paylin Shelton was 3-for-5 while Hayleigh Seidl, Elizabeth Shelton and Aryel Mitchell all had doubles.
In the circle Manuel threw six innings with seven strikeouts, six walks and two hits allowed.
South Greene 6, Unaka 2
The South Greene softball team went to Unaka on Monday and earned a 6-2 win.
The Lady Rebels only produced three hits in the win, but took advantage of four Lady Ranger errors. Neveah Davis had a double. Paisley Brobeck had a single with two RBIs and Whitney Reaves had a single.
Kortnei Bailey earned the win. In seven innings she struck out five, walked six and allowed two hits.
BASEBALL
West Greene 8, Johnson County 2
On Monday night the West Greene baseball team pushed across six runs in the seventh inning to pick up an 8-2 win over Johnson County in District 1-2A play.
The Buffaloes scored their eight runs on nine hits. Jhonen Bath went 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Brandon Hunter was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Julian Greenlee was 2-for-2.
Jayden Cox earned the win on the mound. In 6.2 innings he had six strikeouts, six walks and four hits allowed.
Chuckey-Doak 13, Happy Valley 1
The Chuckey-Doak baseball team earned a 13-1 over District 1-2A foe Happy Valley on Monday night.
The Black Knights pounded 12 hits in the win. Randall Sauceman was 3-for-3 with four RBIs. Shane Cooke went 2-for-2 with a double wand two runs scored. Lykin Cutshaw was 2-for-3 with a doubel and three runs scored. Collin Bishop was 2-for-3.
Gavin Crum earned the win. in four innings he struck out seven, walked one and allowed three hits.
Cherokee 7, Greeneville 6
The Greeneville baseball team fell to Cherokee 7-6 on Monday in District 2-3A action.
The Greene Devils produced eight hits on Monday. Will Harmon was 2-for-3 with a home run, an RBI and two runs scored. Tegan Begley went 2-for-4. Jaxon Winter had a double and Grayson Crosby had two RBIs.
On the mound Randen Filler threw four innings with nine strikeouts, two walks and six hits allowed. In 1.2 innings Begley struck out four and allowed one hit.
University High 10, North Greene 0
The North Greene baseball team fell to University High 10-0 on Monday evening.
Bucs pitcher Cole Stevenson was one error away from tossing a perfect game while he struck out 16 Huskies.
For North Greene Tyler Britton threw 3.2 inning with two strikeouts, two walks and nine hits allowed. Isaac Halley threw 2.1 innings with no strikeouts, no walks and two hits allowed.
Unicoi County 20, South Greene 0
The South Greene baseball team fell to Unicoi County 20-0 on Monday night.
Eli Fillers was the only Rebel to reach base. He walked in the fifth inning.
Maddux Brown took the loss. In one inning he allowed eight runs on two hits with three walks and no strikeouts.
