Greeneville 2, Morristown West 0
The Greeneville soccer team picked up a 2-0 win over Morristown West on Thursday night.
After a scoreless first half the Greene Devils went in front 1-0 in the 54th minute when Emerson Hensley sent a cross to Cristian Banegas that Banegas punched in from six yard. In the 78th minute Aidan Inscore finished a penalty kick to make it 2-0.
BASEBALL
Greeneville 10, Canfield, OH 0
The Greeneville baseball team made quick work of Canfield, Ohio on Thursday night with a 10-0 win in five innings.
Will Harmon tossed a complete game with seven strikeouts, no walks and two hits allowed.
At the plate Colton Smith was 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Jacob Ward and Jaxon Winter each had a double. Kaine Ricker, Tegan Begley and Sam Thomson all had two RBIs.
North Green 9, South Greene 1
The North Greene baseball team picked up a 9-1 win over South Greene on Thursday evening.
Isaac Gaby tossed a complete game for the Huskies. In seven innings he struck out three, walked four and allowed two hits.
At the plate the the Huskies produced nine hits. Christian Cogdill went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Tyler Britton was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Colten Suggs and Parker Collins each had two RBIs.
For South Greene Colten Fillers had a double and Tyler Davis had a single.
Fillers took the loss on the mound. In six innings he struck out five, walked three and allowed nine hits.
Chuckey-Doak 11, Apostolic Christian 1
The Chuckey-Doak baseball team took Apostolic Christian Academy 11-1 on Thursday evening.
The Black Knights earned 11 hits in the win. Lynkin Cutshaw went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Randall Sauceman was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Dom Atchison was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Cooper Seay had a double and Gavin Crum drove in two runs.
Kayden Bowers earned the win. In 5.1 innings he struck out three, walked four and allowed one hit.
SOFTBALL
North Greene 3, West Ridge 0
The North Greene softball team went to West Ridge on Thursday and earned a 3-0 win.
Hannah Brooks earned the win in the circle. In seven innings she struck out seven, walked three and allowed two hits.
At the plate Charlie Turnmire was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Matti Phillips and Tralyn Southerland each had a double. Josie Graham and Eva Leonard each had a single.
Johnson County 14, Chuckey-Doak 4
The Chuckey-Doak softball team fell to Johnson County 14-4 on Thursday night.
The Lady Black Knights were held to two hits. Haleigh Seidl had a double and two RBIs. Jayden Myers had a single, and Elizabethton Shelton had two walks.
Myers took the loss. In two innings she struck out one, walked two and allowed seven hits. Elizabeth Manuel threw 3.2 innings with two strikeouts, one walk and five hits allowed.
Science Hill 8, Greeneville 4
The Greeneville softball team fell to Science Hill 8-4 on Thursday night.
The Lady Greene Devils produce six hits on Thursday. Brylee Tullock was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Kaley Garland had a double and two RBIs. Kinslee Lewandowski had a double and Brynlee Jones had an RBI.
In the circle Jamie Jackson struck out four, walked six and allowed nine hits.
TENNIS
The Greeneville tennis teams split with Johnson County on Thursday.
The Lady Greene Devils earned a 4-3 win.
In singles Brylee Catron earned an 8-3 win over Lexi Mullins. Julieann Raby took down Maria Olmedo 8-2. Angelyn Diaz won 8-1 over Liyah Hillman. Mya Goad beat Candace Potter 8-0.
Johnson County’s Aubrey Shaw won 8-4 over Emma Light. Rosalie Mills beat Ellianna Gaskins 8-5.
In doubles Greeneville’s Diaz and Light beat Hillman and Olmedo 8-6. For Johnson County Mullins and Shaw won 8-7 over Catron and Raby, and Mills and Potter beat Gaskins and Goad 8-4.
In the boys match Johnson County won 6-1.
In singles Greeneville’s Parker Quillen beat Isaiah Eller 8-2.
For Johnson County Clayton Furches beat Ryoma Taniguchi 8-1. Kale Cox beat Maccormack Cutshall 8-1. Harris Perkins beat Jackson Peters 8-2. Cecil Perry beat Ryan Jobe 8-3. Kyle Roberts beat Kellan Simerly 8-2.
In doubles Johnson County’s Cox and Furches beat Jobe and Quillen 8-7. Perkins and Perry beat Cutshall and Peters 8-7. Eller and Roberts beat Hirschy and Quillen 8-4.
