The Greeneville High School golf teams got the season started this week with a strong showing at the 5 Star Preps Invitational at Three Ridges Golf Course in Knoxville.
In the girls competition Greeneville senior Brylee Catron came in second place as an individual after shooting a 153 over two days. She finished regulation tied with Knoxville Catholic’s Teagan Walker, but game up short in a two-hole playoffs.
Greeneville’s Kamryn Renner shot an 160 over two days to place fourth as an individual. As a team Greeneville finished in second place behind Knoxville Catholic.
The Greeneville boys placed 7th as a team with a two-day combined total of 629. Christian Academy of Knoxville was first with a 593 and Hardin Valley was second with a 602.
Andrew England led the Greene Devils with a 151 and tied for 18th place. Carson Waters had a 156, Nathan Howlett 159, Landon Aldridge 163 and Bryson Ricker 179.
First Baptist Academy’s Alex Green came in first place with a 138.
