West Greene walked out North Greene with a 3-1 win on Thursday, 22-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-16.
The Lady Buffs stay unbeaten against District 1-1A teams and improved to 6-0. North Greene dropped to 2-4 with the loss.
Greeneville 3, Unicoi County 0
The Greeneville volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win over Unicoi County on Thursday, 25-10, 25-18, 25-16.
With the win the Lady Greene Devils wrap up District 1-AA play with an 8-2 record and will be the top seed in the upcoming district tournament.
South Greene 3, Hampton 0
The South Greene volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win over Hampton on Thursday, 25-10, 25-12, 25-14.
FOOTBALL
Sevier County 30, Greeneville 27
The Greeneville football team fell to defending Class 5A state champion Sevier County 30-27 in double overtime on Thursday night.
With the loss Greeneville falls to 5-1 on the year while the Smoky Bears improve to 5-0.
Greeneville quarterback Caden Baugh ran for 155 yards and a touchdown, and threw for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Taren Claridy had two catches for 48 yards and two touchdowns, and had an interception on defense.
For Sevier County quarterback Cooper Newman threw for 139 yards and ran for 53 yards. Bryson Headrick scored the game winning touchdown in double overtime on a 10-yard run.
