TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23rd
South Greene 50, Bulls Gap 22
South Greene traveled to Bulls Gap for a battle of the top two teams in the conference and left with a 50-22 win.
Wyatt Milhorn couldn’t be stopped and left with 10 carries for 196 yards and four touchdowns. He scored a defensive touchdown to combine for five total touchdowns in the win. Quarterback Sammy Jones was 3-for-3 with 27 yards and a touchdown. Alex Merriam was the receiver on the end of that touchdown. He collected 22 yards. Johnny Buchanan had one carry, but took it 48 yards for a touchdown.
Adrian Bobadilla led the defense with 7 tackles and Michael Parris had 4. Braevyn Myers forced the fumble that Milhorn returned for a touchdown. Kade Jeffries had an interception also.
South Greene improved to 7-0 and earned the opportunity to host the championship game on October 2.
North Greene 0, Rogersville 50
The Huskies didn’t fare well with Rogersville Middle on Tuesday night and suffered a 50-0 defeat on The Tundra.
North Greene fell to 2-6 with the loss.
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24th
Greeneville 0, Tennessee Middle 25
The Greene Devils fought through injuries, but couldn’t find any success and dropped Wednesday’s game to Tennessee Middle 25-0.
Greeneville falls to 3-4 and hosts TA Dugger next Thursday at home at 7:00.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th
South Greene 42, Surgoinsville 2
The Rebels hosted Surgoinsville on 8th Grade Night and improved to 8-0 with a 42-2 win. South Greene reached 8-0 for the first time in school history.
None other than Wyatt Milhorn carried the load on offense again and had a perfect night carrying the ball. 4 times he was handed the ball and it resulted in 4 touchdowns for a total of 139 yards. Michael Parris had a good day in the backfield also with 3 rushes for 26 yards and a pair of scores.
The offensive line of Korban Franklin, Grady Wilhoit, Avan Park, Kason Justice, and Braxton Ailshie played exceptional up front.
The offense allowed Sammy Jones to get some practice in with extra points and he went a perfect 6-of-6.
Surgoinsville was held to only 42 yards total. Braevyn Myers led the Rebels with 4 tackles. Wyatt Milhorn, Adrian Bobadilla, and Summit Beach had 4 tackles each.
South Greene will host next Thursday’s championship game at Camp Creek.
Boone 38, West Greene 0
The Buffaloes suffered a 38-0 loss on 8th Grade Night on The Range.
West Greene ends up 0-8 after the loss.
