South Greene 75, North Greene 41
The South Greene boys basketball team was firing on all cylinders on Tuesday night and took down North Greene 75-41.
Jameson White led the offense for the Rebels with 19 points while Noah Wright put in 13 points. In total 10 of the 11 players who took the floor for South Greene on Tuesday scored.
For North Greene Tyler Britton scored 14 points, Isaac Gaby had 12 points and Thomas Darnell 10.
The Rebels will be at home on Thursday against David Crockett, and then will visit Chuckey-Doak on Friday with the No.3 seed in the upcoming District 1-2A Tournament on the line.
North Greene will finish the week with two District 1-1A contest, Hampton at home on Friday and at University High on Saturday.
Cherokee 66, Greeneville 62 (OT)
The Cherokee Chiefs took down Greeneville for the first time since 2014 on Tuesday night, prevailing 66-62 in overtime.
With the win the Chiefs will take the top seed in the upcoming District 2-3A Tournament. Greeneville will meet Volunteer on Friday with the winner taking the No.3 seed.
Yordan Mills led Greeneville with 15 points. Taren Claridy scored 14, Zy Neal delivered 13, and Parker Quillen had 12. Cherokee’s Elijah Carmack was the game’s leading scorer with 24 points.
Chuckey-Doak 63, Happy Valley 38
The Chuckey-Doak boys basketball team pulled away from Happy Valley in the fourth quarter on Tuesday night on the way to collecting a 63-38 win.
Knox McAmis led the Black Knights with 13 points and Ryland Grindstaff put in 12 points.
The Black Knights will be at Washburn on Thursday and then they will take on South Greene on Friday with the No.3 seed in the District 1-2A Tournament on the line.
West Greene 56, Cosby 46

North Greene 60, South Greene 46
The North Greene girls basketball team completed the season sweep of South Greene on Tuesday night, taking down the Lady Rebels 60-46 on the road.
Tralyn Southerland led the Lady Huskies with 21 points, 18 of those came in the first half. Ella Head scored 10 points, Natalie Foshie had nine, Eva Leonard eight and Addi Dean seven.
For South Greene Kortnei Bailey scored 12 points and Neveah Davis had 11 points.
North Greene will now try to lock up the No.2 seed in the upcoming District 1-1A Tournament with win over Hampton on Friday and University High on Saturday.
South Greene will meet David Crockett on Thursday and then try to secure the top seed in the District 1-2A Tournament with a win over Chuckey-Doak on Friday.
Cherokee 75, Greeneville 49
The Greeneville girls basketball team ran into a hot-shooting Cherokee team on Tuesday night an took a 75-49 loss.
The loss broke an 18-game winning streak over Cherokee that dated back to 2013.
Brylee Tullock and Maria Lyde scored 15 points each to lead Greeneville in scoring. Julia Woolsey added 12. Cherokee’s Rylee Sivert led all scorers with 21 points. Kenady Deal scored 19 points and Brooke Nelson scored 14 points.
Greeneville will be at Volunteer on Friday. The Lady Devils have the top seed in the District 2-3A Tournament locked up, but will want to the head into the postseason with some positive momentum.
Chuckey-Doak 41, Happy Valley 40
It came down to the wire but the Chuckey-Doak girls picked up a 41-40 win over Happy Valley on Tuesday night.
Chloe Kirkpatrick ended the Lady Warriors’ last chance with a steal and that set up Cristen Bishop to win it from the free throw line with 0.1 seconds on the clock. Bishop sank her first free toss to secure the win for the Chuckey-Doak.
Jayden Myers led the Lady Knights on Tuesday with 13 points. Amilia Riddick scored 15 points.
