SOCCER
Greeneville 9, Claiborne 0
The Greeneville soccer team earned a 9-0 win over Claiborne on Tuesday.
Sam Gourley led the offense with a pair of goals, starting in the second minute and then following in the 14th minute.
Christopher Lopez also found the back of the net twice. His second goal ended the game by mercy rule in the 47th minute.
Emerson Hensley scored one goal and assisted on two more. Dash Lawson, Christian Banegas, Will Henderson, and Remi Vital all scored one goal.
Greeneville’s defense held the Bulldogs to one shot attempt.
BASEBALL
Chuckey-Doak 11, West Greene 1
The Chuckey-Doak baseball team picked up an 11-1 win over West Greene on Tuesday to stay perfect in District 1-2A play.
The Black Knights pounded out 12 hits on Tuesday. Randall Sauceman was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Braxton Lowe was 3-for-4. Benjamin Palazzo went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Kiptyn Ball went 2-for-3 with a double and scored three runs. Gavin Crum had a double and two RBIs.
Lynkin Cutshaw earned the win. In six innings he struck out eight, walked one and allowed four hits.
For West Greene Jayden Cox and Brandon Hunter each had a double. Aiden Willet and Bronson Brown had singles.
Greeneville 7, Belfry, KY 1
The Greeneville baseball team took down Belfry, Kentucky 7-1 on Tuesday evening.
Randen Fillers was dominant on the mound as he struck out 13, walked one and allowed two hits in a complete game effort.
At the plate Tegan Begley went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double. Kaine Ricker was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Jaxon Winter had a double, and Will Harmon had two RBIs.
Hampton 10, North Greene 9
The North Greene baseball team went to Hampton on Tuesday evening and fell 10-9 in 10 innings.
The Huskies earned 12 hits in the loss. Isaac Gaby was 3-for-5 with a triple, two doubles and two RBIs. Colton Cutshall was 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored. Jaiden Bailey went 2-for-4. Colten Suggs had a double, and Turner Collins had two RBIs.
Tyler Britton started on the mound for North Greene and threw 3.1 innings. He struck out three, walked none and allowed 11 hits. Cutshall threw two innings with one strikeout, no walks and no hits allowed. Christian Cogdill took the loss in relief. In 4.1 innings he struck out six, walked seven and allowed one hit.
Happy Valley 22, South Greene 8
The South Greene baseball team fell to Happy Valley 22-8 on Tuesday.
The Rebels’ offense produced nine hits on Tuesday. Christian Darnell went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Charlie Lane was 2-for-4 and Eli Fillers went 2-for-3. Colton Fillers had a double.
Dawson Ripley took the loss. In 1.2 innings he struck out two, walked five and allowed four hits. He allowed 12 runs, two of which were earned.
SOFTBALL
South Greene 12, West Greene 5
The South Greene softball team stayed unbeaten on Tuesday by earning an 12-5 win over West Greene.
The Lady Rebels earned nine hits in the win. Kortnei Bailey was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Hailey Williamson was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Paisley Brobeck had a grand slam and Neveah Davis was 2-for-5.
Bailey earned the win for the Lady Rebels. In seven innings she struck out nine, walked seven and allowed eight hits.
For West Greene Abby Cluesman went 2-for-4. Aubree Everett had a triple and an RBI. Autumn Carter was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
TENNIS
The Greeneville tennis team picked up a pair of win over Sullivan East on Tuesday.
In the girls match Greeneville won 7-0.
In singles Greeneville’s Brylee Catron beat Ally Callahan 8-1. Emma Light topped Lilly Mowrer 8-3. Julieann Raby beat P.J. Oligo 8-0. Kerry Birdwell took down Payton Williams 8-0. Angelyn Diaz won 8-0 over Annie Fitzgerland, and Ellianna Gaskins won 8-2 over Emily Ball.
In doubles Greeneville’s Catron and Raby beat Callahan and Williams 8-4. Light and Robinson beat Mowrer and Walker 8-6. Birdwell and Diaz took down Fitzgerald and Zanardi 8-2.
The Greeneville boy earned an 4-3 win.
In singles Jackson Peters earned an 8-6 win over Karson Strafford for the Greene Devils. Ryan Jobe topped Noah Brown 8-2. Parker Quillen won 8-3 over Cannon Dickenson. Caedon Hirschy beat Sam Buchanan 8-3.
For Sullivan East Cole Cross beat Maccormack Cutshall 8-2. Adain Latta beat Kellan Simerly 8-6.
In doubles Greeneville’s Cutshall and Peters beat Brown and Dickerson 8-5.
Sullivan East’s Cross and Strafford beat Jobe and Quillen 8-4. Buchanan and Latta beat Davis and Hirschy 8-5.
