Greeneville 23, Volunteer 0
The Greeneville baseball team got its Tuesday afternoon with a 23-0 bashing of Volunteer in game one of a double header.
The Greene Devils pounded 19 hits in the win. Maddox Bishop was 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored. Will Harmon went 2-for-2 with a home run and five RBIs. Kase Spradlen was 2-for-2 with two doubles. Tegan Begley was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Grayson Crosby was 2-for-2 while Kaine Ricker and Silar Lewis each had a double.
On the mound Randen Fillers struck out three, walked one and allowed two hits in three innings.
Greeneville 6, Volunteer 1
The Greeneville baseball team completed its Tuesday afternoon sweep by beating Volunteer 6-1 in game two of its double header.
At the plate Colton Smith was 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Tegan Begley was 2-for-3 with a double. Will Harmon had a double and two RBIs.
Sam Thompson earned the win. In five innings he struck out none, walked one and allowed two hits.
Unicoi County 6, Chuckey-Doak 5
It took 10 innings, but the Chuckey-Doak baseball team fell to Unicoi County 6-5 on Tuesday night.
With outs in the bottom of the 10th Isaac Harris singled into the right field to knock in the winning run for the Blue Devils. That came after Kiptyn Ball scored on a passed ball in the top half of the inning to give the Black Knights the lead.
Chuckey-Doak finished Tuesday with 11 hits. Gavin Crum was 5-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBIs. Ball was 3-for-5 with a home run and three runs scored. Braxton Lowe had a double.
On the mound Gavin Murray took the loss in relief. In three innings he struck out five, walked four and allowed three hits. Crum threw six innings with four strikeouts, four walks, and six hits allowed.
Happy Valley 11, West Greene 1
The West Greene baseball team fell to Happy Valley 11-1 on Tuesday.
The Buffaloes were held to two hits. Jayden Cox and Christian Hunter each had a single.
Ethan Carpenter took the loss. In 1.2 innings he struck out one, walked two and allowed five hits.
SOFTBALL
Greeneville 6, Volunteer 0
The Greeneville softball team took down Volunteer 6-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
Brynlee Jones led the way for the Lady Greene Devils by tossing a one-hitter. She struck out 10 and walked five.
At the plate Greeneville produce nine hits. Baylee Ramsey was 2-for-2 with a double. Kaley Garland was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Jones had a three-run home run, and Kinslee Lewandowski had a double.
North Greene 16, University 6
The North Greene softball team earned a 16-6 win over University high on Tuesday evening.
The Lady Huskies pounded 14 hits in the win. Charlie Turnmire went 4-for-4 with three RBIs. Josie Graham was 3-for-5 with two doubles and four runs scored. Heidi Trentham was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Eva Leonard went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs.
Hannah Brooks earned the win in relief. In Three innings she struck out seven, walked none and allowed no hits.
South Greene 12, Chuckey-Doak 6
The South Greene softball team picked up a 12-6 win over Chuckey-Doak on Tuesday evening.
The Lady Rebels used 14 hits to score their 12 runs. Nevaeh Davis was 4-for-4 with two RBIs. Kortnei Bailey was 3-for-4 with a double, and an RBI. Whitney Reaves went 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Hailey Williamson was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
In the circle Bailey struck out six, walked four and allowed eight hits.
For Chuckey-Doak Jayden Myers was 2-for-3, and Paylin Shelton was 2-for-4. Aryel Mitchell had a double.
Elizabethton Manuel took the loss. In seven innings she struck out one, walked three and allowed 14 hits.
West Greene 25, Cosby 19
The West Greene softball team got into a slugfest with Cosby on Tuesday and came away with a 25-19 win in eight innings.
The Lady Buffaloes produced 17 hits in the win. Alexis Cutshall was 5-for-7 with two doubles, five RBIs and four runs scored. Abagale Jackson went 4-for-6 with a double, three RBIs and four runs scored. Autumn Carter was 2-for-6 with a double and three RBIs.
Jackson earned the win in the circle. In 6.1 innings she struck out seven, walked eight and allowed 10 hits.
SOCCER
Greeneville 9, Grainger 0
The Greeneville soccer team beat Grainger 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
Sam Gourley led the Greene Devils with a hat trick, scoring all three of his goals in the first half while adding an assist in the second half.
Emerson Hensley scored two goals for the Greene Devils. Justin Banegas had a goal and an assist. Remi Elyze-Vital, Christian Lopez and Mikey Muyanja all had one goal.
Greeneville outshot the Grizzlies 32-1, and did not allow a shot on frame.
