Greeneville 64, Sullivan East 26
The Greeneville girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season on Tuesday night in the Food City Classic, taking down Sullivan East 64-26.
The Lady Greene Devils set the tone with defense early, allowing only two points in the first quarter and nine points in the first half.
Maria Lyde led offense with 22 points, seven rebound and three steals. Brylee Tullock had 17 points, five assists and four rebounds. Julia Woolsey had a double-double for the Lady Devils with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Matea Gray scored five points, Emma Shelton four, and Allison Hayes three.
Greeneville will be back in action at Sullivan East on Wednesday against Morristown West.
North Greene 51, Washburn 23
The North Greene girls basketball team improved to 4-0 on the young season on Tuesday by taking down Washburn 51-23.
Tralyn Southerland led the Lady Huskies’ offense with 14 points, and Cadie McDevitt sank three three-pointers on her way to 11 points.
The Lady Huskies will be off until next Tuesday against Chuckey-Doak.

Boys Basketball
Washburn 47, North Greene 46
The North Greene boys dropped another close call at home on Tuesday night, falling 47-46 to Washburn.
Isaac Gaby knocked down five three-points and led all scorers with 22 points. Thomas Darnell added 11 points for the Huskies.
Gavin Kincaid scored 18 points for Washburn.
David Crockett 69, Chuckey-Doak 63
The Chuckey-Doak boys basketball team fell to David Crockett in the Hardees Classic on Tuesday, 69-63.
The Black Knights brought a 10-point deficit down to two points in the fourth quarter, but could not get over the hump as they took their first loss of the season.
Chuckey-Doak put three players in double figures led by Gavin Crum with 13 points. Dom Atchison had 11 points and Ryland Grindstaff had 10 points.
For Crockett Caleb Eaves scored 18 points, Cam Gouge had 17 and Nolan Street 15.
Chuckey-Doak will be back in action on Friday at David Crockett against Daniel Boone at 4:30 p.m.

South Greene 64, Daniel Boone 47
The South Greene boys basketball took down Daniel Boone 64-47 on Tuesday evening in the first round of the Hardees Classic at David Crockett High School.
Gavin Dyer knocked down five three-pointers for the Rebels and scored a game-high 21 points. Cayden Fillers added 13 points, Will Arrowood eight, Charlie Lane seven and Lucas Couch seven.
For Daniel Boone Conner Carpenter scored 19 points.
South Greene will be back in action on Friday at 7:30 p.m. against David Crockett.
