South Greene 3, West Greene 0
The South Greene volleyball team captured the District 1-A championship on Tuesday at Happy Valley with a 3-0 win over West Greene, 25-10, 25-20, 25-23.
Both teams advanced to next week’s Region 1-A Tournament that will be played at South Greene on Tuesday. South Greene will play Eagleton in the semifinals and West Greene will play District 2-A champion Washburn.
West Greene 3, North Greene 0
In the semifinals of the District 1-A Tournament West Greene beat North Greene 3-0, 25-18, 25-11, 26-24. The loss brought an end to the Lady Huskies’ season.
South Greene 3, Hampton 0
South Greene started the District 1-A Tournament on Friday with a 3-0 win over Hampton, 25-15, 25-20, 25-23.
Chuckey-Doak 3, Greeneville 1
In an elimination game in the District 1-AA Tournament at Sullivan East Chuckey-Doak defeated Greeneville 3-1, 29-27, 25-11, 18-25, 25-11.
The Lady Black Knights move on to Wednesday where they will play the loser of Sullivan East and Elizabethton in another elimination game at 7 p.m. The loss brings an end to Greeneville’s season.
Elizabethton 3, Chuckey-Doak 2
In the quarterfinals of the District 1-AA Tournament Chuckey-Doak fell to Elizabethton 3-2, 25-20, 19-25, 25-19, 25-20, 15-9.
Sullivan East 3, Greeneville 0
In the quarterfinals of the District 1-AA Tournament on Greeneville fell to Sullivan East 3-0, 25-17, 26-24, 25-23.
