TRACK AND FIELD
The South Greene track team competed in a meet at Jefferson County on Tuesday.
Alexa Gabbard won the long jump with a leap of 15’11”, and was third in the high jump at 4’10”.
In the pole vault Sienna Gabbard was third at 7’0″ and Eva Weems was fifth. Madison Darnell placed fifth in the discus.
Miranda Metcalf was third in the triple jump at 26’1″ and third in the 100 meter hurdles at 22.95 seconds. Helen King was fourth in the 100 meter hurdles in 23.3 seconds.
In the 800 meters Ava Leasure was second in a time of 2:47.79. Chelsea Metcalf was third in 2:49.81. Metcalf was second in the 1,600 meters at 6:13.99.
For the South Greene boys Noah Case was second in the 1,600 meters at 4:55.37 and second in the 800 meters at 2:15.73. Jayden Laycek was third in 1,600 at 5:40.75 and third in the 800 meters at 2:27.35.
In the pole vault Colton Green was third at 8’6″ and Tripp Neas was fifth at 8’0″. Neas was third in the shot put at 40’4″.
Heath Norton was third in the discus at 120’2″ and fifth in the shot put at 39’2″.
Evan Stills was fifth in the high jump at 5’6″.
TENNIS
The Greeneville tennis teams picked up a pair of wins on Tuesday over Cherokee. The girls won 9-0 and the boys won 8-1.
For the Lady Devils Brylee Catron beat Reagan Turner 8-0. Emma Light beat Caley Hurley 8-3. Julieann Raby won 8-6 over Chloe Pearson. Kerry Birdwell defeated Shailyn Scalf 8-6. Angelyn Diaz won 8-2 over Erryn Farmer and Chloe Hatcher beat Bri Reidych 8-0.
In doubles Catron and Raby won 8-0 over Hurley and Turner. Light and Robinson defeated Pearson and Scalf 8-5. Birdwell and Diaz topped Farmer and Reidych 8-0.
For the Greeneville boys Ryan Jobe beat Keaton Rainy 8-0. Rroma Taniguchi, Jackson Peters, Maccormack Cutshall and Kellan Simerly all won by forfeit.
In doubles Hirschy and Quillen beat Dixon and Rainy 8-0.
BOWLING
The Greeneville High Bowling team announced its postseason award on Wednesday.
