BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference announced Tuesday afternoon that seven Tennessee football players were recognized on the 2025 Coaches’ All-SEC teams.

Redshirt junior wide receiver Chris Brazzell II claimed first-team All-SEC accolades, while redshirt sophomore running back DeSean Bishop, junior linebacker Arion Carter and redshirt junior kickoff specialist Josh Turbyville were tabbed second-team All-SEC. Junior offensive tackle Lance Heard, freshman cornerback Ty Redmond and redshirt sophomore cornerback Colton Hood rounded out the honorees for the Vols, earning third-team honors from the league’s coaches.

Tennessee has produced 21 Coaches’ All-SEC selections in the Josh Heupel era (2021–present), its most in a five-year span since having 23 recognized from 2006–10.

Brazzell emerged as one of the nation’s top receivers in 2025 and led the SEC with 1,017 receiving yards during the regular season, which ranks ninth in Tennessee single-season history. The Biletnikoff Award semifinalist from Midland, Texas, also paced the league with nine touchdown catches this year, which is tied for 10th in program annals. Brazzell’s breakout campaign featured four 100-yard receiving games, including a career-best 177-yard, three-touchdown outing in Week 3 against Georgia.

Bishop started all 12 games at running back this season and had his most productive season as a Volunteer, totaling 163 carries for 983 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns. His 6.0 yards per carry ranked third in the SEC and 21st in the FBS (minimum 10 rushes per game), while his 81.9 rushing yards per game and 14 rushing touchdowns were fifth- and third-most in the SEC this season, respectively. The Knoxville native produced five multi-touchdown games on the year, logging two rushing scores each against UAB, Alabama, Kentucky, Florida and Vanderbilt.

Carter led the Vols with 76 total tackles this season and racked up an SEC-best 7.6 tackles per game during his junior campaign. The Smyrna product logged six tackles for loss with 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two pass breakups in 2025 and was tabbed SEC Defensive Player of the Week after a 17-tackle performance in UT’s road triumph at Mississippi State on Sept. 27.

Turbyville earned All-SEC recognition for the second consecutive season after another reliable campaign as UT’s starting kickoff specialist. The redshirt junior from Knoxville booted 78 kickoffs for 4,980 yards (63.9 average), and his 67 touchbacks ranked second in the SEC and tied for third in the nation. Additionally, his 85.90 touchback percentage was second best in the league while ranking seventh in the FBS.

Heard started all 12 games at left tackle during the 2025 regular season and anchored the Vols’ offensive line to a fifth consecutive Joe Moore Award semifinalist honor as one of the top units in college football. The Bonita, Louisiana, native played 832 offensive snaps — all at left tackle — and allowed only one sack on the year according to PFF, paving the way and protecting for the SEC’s No. 1 scoring offense.

At least one UT offensive lineman has received All-SEC accolades in all five seasons under Heupel and seven consecutive seasons overall dating back to 2019.

Hood made a major impact in the secondary during his first season on Rocky Top, starting all 12 games at cornerback and totaling 50 tackles with 4.5 TFLs, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery for a touchdown, one interception for a touchdown and eight pass breakups. The Thorpe Award semifinalist finished the regular season with an 83.3 coverage grade according to PFF, which ranked second among cornerbacks in the SEC and 18th in the FBS (minimum 300 coverage snaps).

Redmond was thrust into a starting role early in the year and performed well as a true freshman, totaling 39 tackles with one TFL, three interceptions and 10 pass breakups. His 13 passes defended are tied for first in the SEC, while his 10 PBUs lead all Power Four freshmen this season. Additionally, his three interceptions tied for fourth in the conference, and his 80.0 PFF coverage grade ranked fourth among SEC cornerbacks.
