TA Dugger used a significant height advantage to create extra shot opportunities and paired it with a stingy defense that forced turnovers. That allowed it to pull away from Greeneville Middle School for a 49–26 win on Monday night.
Rylee Minton and Kyrah Campbell controlled the paint, presenting matchup problems the Lady Devils struggled to contain all evening. Minton led all scorers with 20 points, while Campbell added 14. Greeneville was paced by Riley Mathena with 8 points, followed by Maggie Moore with 6.
The Lady Cyclones set the tone early, jumping out to a 16–6 lead after the first quarter behind seven points from Minton and four from Campbell. For Greeneville, Jakyra Hamilton and Ava Hallison each scored two points in the opening frame.
Greeneville battled in the second quarter, sparked by four points from Mathena and three from Tatum Hill, but Minton continued her dominant play. She scored eight in the period to help TA Dugger extend its lead to 29–16 at halftime.
The third quarter proved decisive, as the Lady Cyclones put the game firmly out of reach. Minton and Stella Holtsclaw each scored five points as TA Dugger outscored the Lady Devils 16–5. Moore accounted for all five of Greeneville’s points in the period.
Facing a running clock while trailing 45–21, Greeneville managed a 5–4 edge in the final quarter, but the deficit was far too large to overcome as TA Dugger closed out the convincing victory.
