Tusculum Finishes Eighth At SAC Men’s Golf Championship

GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Tusculum Pioneers posted a three-day total of 905 and finish eighth at the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Men’s Golf Championship. The 13-team, 54-hole tournament was held at The Preserve at Verdae.

Lincoln Memorial claimed the league crown in a runaway as the Railsplitters posted a 20-under par score of 844 including a 14-under par final round 274 to win the title by 42 strokes over runner-up Wingate (886).

All five LMU players ended up on the All-Tournament Team including Ian Taggert who claimed the individual medal in a one-hole playoff over teammate Jamie Dean. Taggert and Dean each finished with a five-under par score of 211.

Anderson finished third with 888, Coker was fourth with 896 and Newberry and Lenoir-Rhyne each shot 899 to tie for fifth place. Catawba was seventh with 900, followed by Tusculum (905), Carson-Newman (906), Limestone (907), UVA Wise (947), Emory & Henry (969) and Mars Hill (979).

TU freshman Harrison Price was the top Pioneer golf as he placed 17th with his 54-hole total 74-74-76=224. Senior Liam Hermansson tied for 24th place with 75-77-75=227, senior Liam van Deventer tied for 33rd with 80-74-75=229 and senior Blake Williams rounded out the final individual scoring with 76-80-75=231.

Senior Hunter Hartman, who came back into the TU lineup after being subbed for on Monday, posted the low final round of the team with his two-over par 74.

Van Deventer ends his career with a 74.01 stroke average which is the fourth lowest in program history while his 97 career rounds played are a new Tusculum record. Williams finishes fifth in the TU record book with his 74.11 scoring average, while Hermansson places 19th with 75.76.
