LEXINGTON, Ky. — For a seventh-straight year, the Tusculum University women’s volleyball program has been recognized with the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award. The team also earned the additional distinction of AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, representing the top 20% of GPAs nationally by division.
The award, initiated during the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.
The Pioneers posted a 3.74 GPA at the completion of the 2025-26 academic year, earning the national honor for a 12th time with eight TU student-athletes recording at least one perfect 4.0 semester last season.
TU boasted 24 selections on the Tusculum Athletic Director’s Fall Honor Roll, 18 to the Spring edition, as well as 21 South Atlantic Conference Commissioner Honor Roll representatives. Thirteen were named to the Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award list with one advancing to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District first team.
The 2026 Pioneers advanced to the conference tournament for a second-straight season under head coach Hannah Barrett.
