GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — Seniors Gabi Stayton and Abby Adkins of the Greeneville Lady Devils soccer team have earned the highest honor in Tennessee high school soccer, being named to the Tennessee High School Soccer Coaches Association (THSSCA) All-State team. The prestigious recognition, determined by coaches statewide, caps off a stellar season and career for the two standout players.

Adkins, who led Greeneville in scoring this season, notched 29 goals, with 13 coming in a remarkable postseason run. Her offensive dominance earned her the District Offensive Player of the Year title and a spot on the First Team All-Region.

Stayton, known for her versatility and leadership, contributed 8 goals and 6 assists from her central midfield position. Her efforts earned her First Team All-District and All-Region honors. Throughout the season, Stayton’s ability to adapt to multiple positions made her an invaluable asset for the Lady Devils.

The duo’s contributions helped guide Greeneville to unprecedented success. This season, they led the Lady Devils to their, 20th consecutive District Crown, 19th consecutive District Championship, 15th Regional Championship, and 10th straight State Tournament appearance. Along the way, Greeneville extended its 97-game winning streak in district play.

Adkins and Stayton, who have played together since the age of four, leave an indelible mark on the program. Over their four-year careers, Greeneville captured four district and regional tournament titles and made four consecutive state tournament appearances, including a state runner-up finish.

As they close this chapter of their soccer journey, Adkins and Stayton’s legacy as Greeneville Lady Devils will remain a cornerstone of the program’s storied tradition.
